Reading And Receiving The Reconnection
November 23, 2008 by akemi · 16 Comments
I learned about Dr. Eric Pearl and his healing called the Reconnection in Jenny Mannion’s Heroes of Healing. He is considered to be able to work miraculous healing by hovering his hands above the patient. Jenny also emailed me personally about his work and I was intrigued. (Here is her recent post on the Reconnection) After reading his book The Reconnection, I was even more intrigued that I went ahead and received the Reconnection session myself the other day. Here is my review of the book and the in-person session.
The Reconnection: the book
The book consists of three parts:
Part I: The Gift
This is mainly about his autobiography to explore how he may have received his special “gift” of healing, what he calls the new frequency of vibration. First he killed his mother in the labor – I mean, his mother died while giving him birth and then came back with vivid after-death memory. It is a beautiful memory of the outer planes and the life-giving Light. I often explain the process between physical lifetimes to my clients of Akashic Record Reading, so I found this part very interesting.
I was also excited to read his account of being a Pleiadian. This is the very thing I do myself in my Akashic Record Reading service (well, part of it . . . my reading includes far more than identifying the origination of the soul. And in my method, you don’t have to come to me in person and hold crystals in your hands, like Dr. Pearl had to do). Now I haven’t read Dr. Pearl’s Akashic Records (I only read with permission), but in his case, it is so clear just by reading his book that he is indeed a Pleiadian. His daring attitude for change, his grandiose sense of humor, his impatience with step-by-step (boring) aspects of life . . . all indicate that he is a Pleiadian. Oh, I wish he’d let me read his Akashic Records further!
He was a successful chiropractor when he realized his own special healing power. He says he didn’t “need” this mysterious power really. He resisted quite a bit to accept this new power, something he didn’t understand himself. Then he sought out various psychics for explanation. This process is so common to those who open up to the spiritual potential, and I feel for him closely.
However, I disagree with him about one thing. I think he jumps to a premature conclusion when he dismisses the existence of negative energies. Just because the “psychics” he happen to meet made him laugh with weird “rituals” doesn’t mean there are no negativity out there. Combined with his cheek-in-tongue sense of humor, I’m afraid he may be misguiding some readers to turn away from what he himself actually believes in – the existence and potential of metaphysical realm.
Part II: Reconnective Healing And What It Means
This part includes a lot of valuable ideas for everyone who seeks spiritual development. He points out the importance of staying “childlike”. People who are serious about spiritual development often make the mistake of becoming judgmental to others and themselves, getting too serious and uptight. But it actually works better when we are like a child, accepting whatever happens as it is and fearing nothing.
I so agree. When I do Akashic Record Reading or communicate with my own spirit guides, I do far better when I relax, get into my inner child, curious and simple minded. Yes, it is a serious business to read other people’s soul records and repair the energetic blocks – it can affect their lives so much – but being serious and uptight doesn’t serve in getting the work done.
Even if you are not necessarily interested in hands-on energy healing, I strongly recommend this book for this part. It can help you to review your attitude in your spiritual development. And if you are interested in energy healing, make sure you read this including the next part of the book.
Part II: You And Reconnective Healing
This part is mostly about the Reconnective healing. I tried feeling “it” myself following the steps described here, and got the “well . . . is this it? My hand (especially the left hand) feels some pressure, and I can move it between the hands, but . . . I’m not quite sure.” kind of result.
But I was motivated enough to follow this modality further. I’m not interested in becoming a hands-on healer (it’s just not me – I prefer to reach larger audience through my writing and to offer my Akashic Record Reading, which doesn’t require my clients to come see me in person and therefore allows people worldwide to contact me) but I think this may help improve my psychic abilities further. So I checked their website and found a practitioner in my area.
The Reconnective Healing and Reconnection
There are two kinds of sessions. One is the Reconnective Healing session, which is for, well, the healing. Another is the Reconnection session, in which you “receive the Reconnection”, or in other words, get aligned with the Earth’s (and the Universe’s) grids. It is the updated version of what Dr. Pearl himself received from the gypsy woman in the book. Because I don’t have any serious health problems and my intention is to improve my spiritual power, I chose to receive the Reconnection session.
The Reconnection session takes two days. My practitioner was an older woman who also practices the law. (Does this add to her credibility?) I made my appointment just before she was leaving for Japan to travel with Dr. Pearl to assist him in his seminars there.
One the first day, she and I talked for a few minutes and then started the session. I lied on the massage table on my back, she dimmed the light and asked me to make myself comfortable and close my eyes. The whole session took probably about 30 or 40 minutes. I’m a side sleeper, so being on my back this long was not very comfortable for me, but it was okay. I didn’t see any angels dancing around me nor my limbs move automatically, as reported with some patients in the book. I did feel a cool breeze in my face for a while. After the session, I looked around, but no window was open, and the vent was closed. Hmm.
Next day, I returned to her office, and we started the session pretty quickly. At one point, I thought the light in front of me got much brighter, so I opened my eyes briefly, but nothing seemed to be happening (the light was just as dim as it was before) so I closed my eyes and relaxed again. The light also seemed to got red at another point. No angels. (Hey, I wanted to see them!)
My practitioner, however, said she saw something unusual. She asked me if I wore blue eyebrows because my brows glowed in blue. I told her I draw eyebrows in dark brown, not blue, and certainly not with something that glows in the dim light.
What I think about the Reconnection
I think it’s a very interesting healing modality. I don’t know if it utilizes brand new energy frequencies, but if you want to try out something new, if you are tired of chiropractors or Reiki healers, check this out!
I will let you know if I experience something new that I think is due to receiving the Reconnection ^_^
What Is Spiritual Healing?

So Yes to Me has a new tagline: Spiritual Healing and Growth for Greater Success. But what is spiritual healing anyway? This post explores the fundamental concepts of spiritual healing and its underlining premise, the soul. (Photo by Bemep)
Definition of spiritual healing
Here is my understanding:
Spiritual healing
- Healing of physical, mental, and emotional conditions and patterns by the power of spirituality or spirits.
This includes faith healing and energy healing. - Healing of the spirit, or the soul, of the client, which is the basis of the aforementioned healing. The soul is restored to its full potential, resulting in the optimal health of physical, mental, and emotional bodies.
This is an old and at the same time new field. Wikipedia doesn’t yet have “spiritual healing” and redirects searches to faith healing, which I think is only the subgroup of spiritual healing. Just as we can be spiritual but not religious (a growing group of population who do not affiliate with any organized religions but believe in the existence of higher power), healing can be spiritual but not faith-based.
I also like to think of spiritual healing in the bigger scope than the conventional healthcare – by that I mean you realize you have negative physical or mental conditions and try to get rid of them. No, spiritual healing is a lot more than that. People who are “healthy” can benefit from spiritual healing – our potential is a lot more than the passing grade level of “health”.
What is the spirit and the soul?
To understand spiritual healing, we need to think about the spirit and the soul. And this is right where most people get bogged down because most people identify themselves with their body and mind. Many people think they only have body and mind, and whatever that is not the physical body, they throw them into the category of mind. “Oh, it’s all in your mind.” Wrong.
You have soul. More accurately, the soul is the true you. Your soul came from the Divine Source, and on this planet Earth, it takes physical body to incarnate. The mental and emotional bodies (the mind) develop on the physical body. So we can say your body and mind are the manifestation of your soul.
It is only natural, then, that the wellbeing of your soul affects your physical, mental, and emotional health. By bringing your soul to its fullness, your physical and mental health can improve.
The word “spirit” has several meanings. Sometimes it means the soul. It also means entities or beings in the spiritual plane. They don’t have physical bodies, so most people don’t see them, but being invisible is no proof of their non-existence.
Everything we do and experience in life is our souls’ way of healing and growing
Even the negative symptoms we so hate are the soul’s signs to get your attention so that you can make appropriate adjustments to get back to its fullness. Sometimes you heal your soul by doing spiritual work such as meditation. Sometimes you heal your soul by interacting with certain people. And sometimes you heal your soul taking challenges and experiencing new things.
I have experienced spiritual healing myself and also have witnessed some spiritual healing in others. I consider my major healing to be the courage that has led me to start my own business (which I have discussed many times in this Yes to Me blog). This courage continues to grow within me. Another healing was my persistent shoulder pain.
I’m expanding the scope of this Yes to Me blog from entrepreneurship / personal development to the spiritual foundation of entrepreneurship and various other manifestations of success. I keep sharing my stories as a new entrepreneur and spiritual consultant, and I keep the doors wide open. Whether you are consciously doing spiritual work already or you are rather skeptical or afraid about spirituality, or if you just want to do some personal development to be successful, you are welcome.
What do you think about spirituality and spiritual healing? Are you skeptical, or afraid? Let me know by leaving your comments!
