5 Q&A About Spirit Guides

Spirit guides – I’m glad many people are finally opening up to this wonderful resource. Hope this article helps you to connect and communicate with your own spirit guides. (Photo by alicepopkorn)
Your spirit guide team or committee
First, you have more than one spirit guide. You have inner circle spirit guides who work exclusively for you and who are with you all the time. Then you have outer circle spirit guide team, each member with specific function, such as your astral guide who guides you through the astrals while you sleep. Beyond this, there are your teachers, masters, and angels . . .
When I just say “spirit guides”, I’m talking about the inner circle spirit guides. You want to focus on communicating with them because they know you intimately and they work closely with you. If there are jobs that are beyond their capabilities, they can pass it on to higher guides and work as mediators.
You may also have one or more special assignment guides on the inner circle. These are temporary spirit guides (by temporary, I mean for a few weeks or for the rest of your life) with specific assignment.
Who are spirit guides?
Your spirit guides are NOT your ancestors nor your deceased family members. At least, I have never seen such cases. However, you may have shared physical lifetimes with them in your past life. Or you may not have.
You hired your spirit guides at some point in your life. Typically, people are born with one spirit guide (also called birth guide) and hire more spirit guides as they grow up. The hiring ends as you reach adulthood (by age 30 usually), with four to seven spirit guides on the inner circle. Of course, special assignment guides are exceptions – you may be hiring them at any time in your life, as the need arises.
Your spirit guides have agreed to serve as your spirit guides, so don’t be afraid to utilize them. They want to help you. They do their further development by serving you. They are a few steps ahead of you in spiritual evolution, so they have higher perspective and insights that you can benefit from.
Common questions about spirit guides
1. “Why do I have more than one spirit guide?”
It’s better to have a team. Each spirit guide has personalities, just like we do. Some lead the team with grand big visions, but don’t pay much attention to details. Some are happy, smiley people person (sorry, I mean spirit) and hold the team dynamics. Some are good at technical analytical thinking. Some are very nurturing and comforting. Together they make a great team.
If you recognize only one spirit guide, you may be communicating with your first (birth) guide. He or she can work as the representative of the whole team.
It’s also important to understand the number of spirit guides on the inner circle doesn’t mean better or worse. A team of four is just as well as a team of six. Personally, when I had six spirit guides (prior to my soul shifting), I found myself communicating with just two of them most of the time. It was easier for me that way.
2. “Isn’t it better to communicate with higher beings, like angels?”
It’s essential to leave elitist thinking here. Your inner circle spirit guides are just a few steps ahead of you, which means they can relate to you well, and vice versa. Don’t underestimate them just because they are not terribly ahead of you. You don’t want super advanced guides. That’s like having Einstein teach high school science. The students won’t learn much from him ? they need a teacher who can explain things in their terms.
This doesn’t mean higher level beings like angels are not useful to us – of course, they are. On a daily basis, however, your spirit guides are your trusted resource.
3. “What’s the name of my spirit guide?”
I guess this question comes from the idea that you need to know the spirit guide’s name to communicate with them. Well, you don’t. You can just address them “my spirit guides”.
But of course, more information such as the name and appearance of each of your spirit guides can help you tremendously, so I offer Spirit Guides Reading. I also offer Spirit Guides Coaching, which is a six week program to learn how to communicate with your own spirit guides experientially. It’s been a great success and I recommend it to anyone who is serious about utilizing this amazing resource.
4. “Do I need help from a psychic or medium to communicate with my spirit guide?”
No. You don’t need them. You are fully capable of communicating with your own spirit guides yourself. However, you may find it helpful to get some training.
It’s like learning how to drive a car. Did you find it helpful to have someone more experienced next to you when you were first learning how to drive? Most likely. And hopefully, that someone was able to explain things in the way you understand rather than just screaming “NO!”
Same thing with learning how to communicate with your spirit guides. And this is why I offer Spirit Guides Coaching. Learn it by doing it with me. You’ll get my special report, too, so you can practice more at home by yourself.
5. “But do I really have spirit guides?”
Aaaaagh, this is a super critical question. Because you are right, some people do not have spirit guides. I’m sorry, I don’t intend to scare you, but it’s something I frequently find in my Akashic Record Reading.
Some souls lose spirit guides with traumatic experience. Some souls dismiss them by mistake. Or there could be any other reasons. Clients who don’t have spirit guides usually know this at a deep level. They feel very lonely and helpless, literally. They may have given up prayers because they were disappointed with the results of their previous prayers.
When I find out there are no spirit guides, I restore the spirit guides team. (Yes, it’s absolutely possible to restore them! So don’t despair.)
Another very harmful situation with spirit guides is that some people have negative spirit guides who misguide them. This is extremely confusing because you can’t tell if an advice is coming from a good spirit guide or from a negative one. (Again, this situation can be repaired.)
Did I cover all your questions about spirit guides? If you have more questions, please leave it in the comment. Thank you.
Update on November 18, 2009: Thank you for all the comments! I will write another post about spirit guides soon. Regarding your individual cases, such as if you have any spirit guides, or what their names may be, I have no idea until I read your Akashic Records.
Let me put it this way. It would be totally irresponsible and unprofessional if a doctor gave diagnosis just by hearing your description of what you are experiencing. They can write articles on healthcare, but individual cases need individual attention. Likewise, I can share general info on this blog, but I cannot talk about your specific case just by reading your comment. I strive for my professionalism. So if you are serious about improving your communication with your spirit guides, please order Spirit Guides Reading or Spirit Guides Coaching. Thank you.
How Not To Find Your Soulmate
February 12, 2009 by akemi · 22 Comments

I know I’m crashing many people’s dreams. Please don’t stone me. Although it may be disappointing, knowing the truth of soulmates can free you up in your search for romantic relationship. (And yes, I know Valentine’s Day is coming up . . .) (Photo by smudie)
You don’t want to seek your soulmate
You know the whole hype the mass media has made about soulmates. There is one soul that is meant for you, and you are supposed to marry him or her. You and him or her have promised to do so at the deep soul level many lifetimes ago. They are also called twin flames.
As you know, I read people’s soul records (Akashic Records) professionally. So, yes, I know about the soulmate contracts. I come across them occasionally. When I do, my heart starts sinking with compassion. And I expect an emotionally-charged phone session. Because the soulmate contracts, at this time of our spiritual evolution, are outdated and those who are still seeking their soulmates are bound to be disappointed.
It started off on a positive note. The two souls had such a great relationship that they decided to do it all over again when they’d come back in another lifetime. And they did. And the relationship was again good. And then they came back to this physical world again and did it all over again. And . . .
At some point, it got old. When they first meet in the physical world, there is already a sense that they know each other somehow. In the past, this promoted to form a relationship quickly and kept it secure. There were plenty of other challenges in life and having a prescribed relationship with someone they already knew on the soul level worked as a safety net.
However, we don’t need this kind of restriction any longer and a lot of souls have noticed it. They intuitively know they can form intimate relationship with someone new for totally new experiences. So they have voluntarily cleared the soulmate contract on their own to free themselves.
. . . so long, honey, it’s been good but I’m ready for a new adventure now . . .
What happens when one soul sticks to their soulmate contract
The problem is there are still souls who are literally keeping their side of the soulmate contracts. They seek and indeed find their soulmates. They recognize their soulmates as such and woo. Their soulmates, however, are not interested. They may feel the familiarity and like their former soulmates, but they are not interested in having yet another intimate relationship with them.
So they keep a distance, messaging “Let’s just be friends.” The one that’s still keeping the soulmate contract, however, wouldn’t listen and chase their mate. Sad, unproductive courtship happens.
For the one that’s keeping soulmate contract, this is dissatisfying and frustrating. For the one that has cleared the soulmate contract, this is very disturbing and confusing. This person does not dislike their former soulmate – the former soulmate is like an old family member. Just not romantic.
Sometimes they are already married. One spouse has noticed the relationship is outdated – it’s not like they don’t love their partners any longer, but they crave freedom and new opportunities. If they can dissolve the issue somehow, by separation / divorce or by somehow opening up the marriage (whether this involves sex with other people or not), that’s good. If not, the soul that has cleared the soulmate contract may grow increasingly frustrated to the point that they start resenting their partners.
Soulmates vs soul friends
Soulmates are not the only souls we know from our past lives. There are other familiar souls that I like to call “soul friends”. Dr Michael Newton calls them “soul cluster groups” in Journey of Souls. These souls know each other, may have some agreements, but not a binding contracts like soulmate contracts. They incarnate at the same time repeatedly to share lifetimes.
You may know your soul friends. The souls that walk into your life seemingly accidentally but ever so meaningfully. You just feel so relaxed talking with them, even after a long time of no contact.
For example, in Dr Brian Weiss’ Many Lives, Many Masters, his patient Catherine’s soul friends include the doctor who referred her to Dr Weiss and Dr Weiss himself.
You may or may not want to marry your soul friend. Sometimes, friends are best kept as friends.
The new meaning of romantic relationship
I think some of us are seeking fundamentally different things in romantic relationships these days. In the past, relationship was a preparation or trial of becoming and raising a family. It was for survival. It was also about learning – learning from each other and through relationship.
Now, for more and more souls, romantic relationship is simply about experiencing love in this physical world. It’s not about survival – on the contrary, it’s about free expression of love. Romantic relationship is just that – it really doesn’t matter if it leads to marriage and family, and it doesn’t even have to be about learning. Just experience what love is like in this physical form. Period.
I guess most of us are still caught up in the old survival-oriented relationship model that has been the norm in society for thousands of years. It’s scary to jump to the new type of relationship model based on unconditional love and freedom. So you may be tempted to argue that free love is possible and has always existed in the old survival-oriented relationships. But if so, why do people become so possessive of their partners?
I’m not saying one is better than the other. I’m saying many souls are waking up and opening to new possibilities.
Like other things I discuss on this blog, don’t just take my word. If you want to form an exclusive relationship, my blessings go to you. I know the sense of security feels good, and if your partner is happy about it, too, that is wonderful. Just don’t bind him or her with mandatory contracts like soulmate contracts
Do you still want to find your soulmate? Which part of the media story on soulmates ticks you?
My Spiritual Make Money Scheme
February 10, 2009 by akemi · 21 Comments

In What The Heaven Is Value?, I pointed out lack is an illusion. If you want to make money, it’s critical you see this clearly. So in this post, I am expanding on this concept, and I’ll use my own business as an example. (It made $6K in January – not a super glamorous figure, but not too shabby for a nine month old one-person business, I guess) (Photo by shoebappa)
For those of you in a hurry (because people seem to be in a hurry when they talk about making money), here is the essence of the post:
The shortcut to abundance is to develop your spirituality so that you see abundance instead of lack.
If you get this, you are done. If you didn’t quite get it, read on.
Lack is an illusion
In reality, things are just the way they are. For example, it rains a lot in Oregon. That is how Oregon weather is – it is not about lack of sunny days. But in our thinking, we can make it about lack of sunny days if we so choose. And make ourselves miserable doing so. Or we can see abundance of rain water and make money. Like these people who make soaps with rain water, which is naturally soft water.
In that lengthy post about value and lightworkers / darkworkers, I described how the same world could be experienced either as the world of abundance and harmony or the world of lack and pain. There was no real change between the two – in the latter, people just adopted the bad rumor of lack.
If things are just the way they are, you may argue, it is neither lack nor abundance, it’s neutral, isn’t it? Good point. However, things “are”, not “are not”. Abundance exists, but lack does not – it’s the absence of abundance. Just as darkness is the absence of light. Thinking lack exists is an illusion.
“All the powers in the universe are already ours. It is we who have put our hands before our eyes and cry that it is dark.” — Swami Vivekananda
Likewise, we are putting our hands before our eyes and cry we don’t see abundance.
Lack of income?
In the comment section of that post, I conversed with Hunter Nuttall, who I so respect and adore:
Akemi: Really? You still see lack? Give me an example and I’ll incorporate it in my future post. (Be it YOUR lack, not like starving children in Africa. Because that is a different issue. You don’t really know about those kids.)
Hunter: Well yeah, I see lack. For one thing, I have no income. Isn’t that a pretty big lack?
I guess this may be the case for some other readers, too. And yet more readers are afraid of the lack of income. So let me make a point here to help you.
First, let me ask you if all your material needs are met with or without income.
After I quit my corporate job in October 2007 and until I started to make money in June 2008, I had no income source. But I always had roof over my head and foods on the table. I had a chance to talk with Hunter about this, and the conversation went something like this (quoted with his permission):
Akemi: So are you experiencing any material lack?
Hunter: Well, no. Not now. . . But I’m afraid I will.
Akemi: How long is your money going to last?
Hunter: Umm . . . I don’t know.
Akemi: You don’t know?
Hunter: . . . No.
Akemi: Okay, then you have enough money. If you are really short of money, you know exactly how long it will last.
Note about homelessness
People say they are afraid of becoming homeless. Fear of homelessness keeps people stuck in their jobs they so loathe. It’s such an effective control system that I wouldn’t be surprised if some exploitative managements were paying those people in the back.
However, I’m pretty sure people who are in alignment with the energy flow of Divine Abundance would not go homeless. Homeless people are either:
- Extremely out of alignment and stuck. Like believing it is possible to become homeless and continuously acting with that fear.
- Working on some spiritual lessons that can be best learned in homelessness. For example, the soul may be choosing to experience abundance in an extreme rugs to riches scenario.
And here are three examples of people who rose from homelessness to abundance.
- Alex Smith, owner of Alara Wholefoods in UK, started his business with 2GBP, about $3, that he found in the gutter.
- Chris Gardner, owner of stockbrokerage firm Gardner Rich and who wrote his story in The Pursuit of Happyness
that was later turned to a movie, was homeless with a toddler while he was interning.
- Neale Donald Walsch, well-known writer of Conversation with God series, was homeless for almost a year after his car accident. Yeah, not just a homeless but a homeless with a neck collar.
I’m just listing these people to show the incredible possibilities. But again, I don’t think we particularly need to become homeless to enjoy abundance.
Limiting thoughts about “income”
Next thing I want to ask to those of you who see lack of income is your idea of “income”. Is that limited to certain ways, like paychecks or established business income?
Money is just energy and it can come in various ways – if you let it. But paycheck mentality runs deep in many of us. Even those who become self-employed carry over this mentality.
Are you comfortable receiving money in unexpected ways or do you want “income source” that seems solid, like employment? Does it bother you if someone just sent you money, like as donation? Does it bother if you just picked up a $100 bill?
I’m not saying you should rely on these haphazard incomes. I’m saying you might want to open up to all kinds of possibilities of income, all kinds of income sources. So you always have income possibilities – as long as you don’t refuse it by believing you have lack of income.
Seeing abundance everywhere you go
To make money, you first need to see abundance. You can’t create abundance out of lack – I mean your stubborn belief of lack. It looks like this:
Dark grim outlook of lack: “There are no good business ideas, people don’t have money and they are not buying anything, and I don’t have any money or connection or expertise to do anything, maybe I’m not interested anyway . . .”
Gee, I just felt really awful. Let’s get back to abundance consciousness, quick!
. . . okay, I think my vision is restored. I see abundance now. I see lots of people, with lots of dreams and desires, and therefore tons of opportunities to serve these people. Energy is flowing, and all I need to do is to get in this flow.
Do you see it, too? Look around and say out loud what you see abundantly, whether they are visible stuffs or invisible needs / wants / etc.
When you notice “lack”, take a moment and think if you can change your viewpoint to see abundance. For instance, you see lots of people losing their jobs? Means there are lots of people who will benefit with support services in their job search or businesses development. Think you live in a small town where there isn’t enough market for your business? Can you go online? The population is exploding globally, you know.
Share abundance to get more abundance
One excellent way I know to tap into increasing abundance is to share the abundance. Come up with a win-win game plan that make everyone better off – that will attract more people and money.
I just started promoting my new eBook by affiliate program. Affiliate programs are easy way to share abundance. My affiliates make money by promoting great products that improve customers’ lives, I make money, too, and customers are happy to easily find such great products.
Do you know other win-win game plans? I’d be interested – let me know in the comment ; )
How I started my business
I had a pretty good job as executive admin before. My motivation to go into business myself was more about the sense of service and increasing love and freedom for all, including myself. In other words, releasing the light energy trapped in darkness.
I knew there were many many people who would benefit from my Akashic Record Reading service because I was one of them myself. I had struggled many years trying to make sense of my life, always felt as if there were invisible walls around me. So I saw abundance of potential customers – all I do is to reach out. And by doing this, my lifelong experiences, many of which were troubling at the time, become my assets – another abundance.
I also write for this blog. This is a free access blog and I hardly make money with it right now, but I enjoy writing and sharing my thoughts, so I do it. I have abundant resources within me. And I sense there may be yet another abundance that I may be able to tap in by doing this. I’ll see.
Okay, enough about me. Here is another person working to release light from darkness, or “eliminate the chain and changing the fucking world”, in her own way. While making good money herself (reportedly $200K last year) And yes . . . a lightworker can use bad words – be quite good at it, for that matter ^_^
Do you see abundance now? And with that empowered vision, what are you going to do? If you are not doing what you aspire to do, what is stopping you?
