Hi Tom,
I think a lot of conventional methods of goal setting and measurement is actually designed to slow us down so that our "bosses" could put us under their control. (The "bosses" include parents and teachers.)

Fascinating observation. Although I have always completed more with a measurable goal I never spent too much time figuring out what achievable was. Like you said why place limits when we can often exceed them? Thanks for busting another silly traditional business practice.

Our goals can be "SMART" but should also be "allowed" to lie outside of the box, that of safety. Sometimes our intuition knows better than traditional logic of the marketplace. Indeed, we must be willing to take risks to really make sizeable gains in our lives. Regards, Keith Johnson, Author "365 Great Affirmations".
